Been there, done that
Writing about myself is something that I have never been comfortable with. But here I am, writing this so you can understand where I come from and why I want to help you. I want you to know that you are not alone and things can change...
Nearly everyone has had financial problems in their past. It may have been from mismanagement, medical issues, employment setbacks or any one of many other issues. That is not really important. It is what you do after the problems that determines where you go from there.
I started out with nothing, had my ups and downs and have finally achieved substantially much more than nothing. I am not rich but I do OK, actually better than OK. It has not been easy.
I come from a large, very poor family of eight children in a small town in west central Illinois. My father was a self-employed welder and mechanic and didn’t really know much about running a business. My mother would babysit for a few dollars a week to get by. You’ve probably heard all the stories so I won’t bore you by repeating them here. Just know that nobody ever gave me anything that I didn’t work long and hard for.
Growing up poor, I suppose that I splurged quite a bit once I stated working, to try and compensate for having nothing growing up. I struggled for decades until I finally decided I didn’t want to live worrying about money all the time.
I have worked for myself, was self-employed for more than 30 years. You are almost always working for someone, it is just that you are the boss! I have worked relentlessly and hard and have provided my clients with exceptional service. So I've made out OK.

I have lived through several major financial setbacks including the internet boom in the late 90’s and the total market collapse because of the real estate market. I suffered just like most everyone else.
I no longer let the credit card companies and banks run my life. I now feel very much in control of my finances and my future. It used to be that if I wanted to buy a car, I would take the first thing I could get because I felt that, with bad credit, I really had no choice. (You really don’t)
Finally things have changed! I rarely pay any interest at all. If I can’t afford something, I don’t get it. If I need to make a major purchase and they don’t offer 0% financing, I don’t get it or I pay cash. I do use my credit cards (with high limits) for nearly everything. I do like the perks of free money just by using my credit cards but I never carry balances that would cost me interest. Why would you shop for a bargain and then pay interest on the purchase?
You can start again but it is not easy. That is why I am in this business. I don’t like banks and credit cards taking advantage of people. And if you don’t have good credit, that is exactly what they do. If you want to be in control of your future, I can help you, because I have been there.
I look forward to working with you!
